Thanks again for having me Kaitlyn! If you'd like to see last years trip, clicky HERE.
Sit tight, there's a ton!
A little neighborhood stroll
You have to try their Franziskaner
Dylan shows us the right way to roll your tongue. I still can't do it.
He was really frusterated with me.

The Meadow Salt Shop. Salt from all over the world.

Before dinner apertif at The Secret Society. Kir Royal and The Bee's Knee's.

Dinner at Toro Bravo.
(bacon wrapped dates, sangria, caramel panna cotta, oxtail croquettes)
Popular place!
Then we did some shopping on 23rd.
I did make a very expensive purchase, which you will see in two weeks time.
I also got an idea after taking a picture of a darling sales girl.
Later we went for a little hike.
It was Dylan's 6th birthday so we needed to do something special.
Here is Kaitlyn when we got back to the car.
Can you guess what she is doing? Can you see what is behind her? Yes. Ouch.
We both know what they look like, neither of us noticed before it was too late!
Then it was time for dinner...we don't each much

Dinner at Pambiche
(Pork cuban plate, Maduros, Banana Cake, Palm Beach Cooler)
On the way to breakfast we came across these gems.
I wanted them, but I knew my husband would kill me.
Last trip I brought home a dresser I have yet to paint.
I'm bummed I missed out but excited to see what she does with them
Okay you ready to see my idea? I had to do it while I was there so I didn't lose my nerve.

This looks like the trip of all trips! The food looks amazing...Your hair looks amazing... love the change. Will you come with me to get my hair cut? I think it's time for a change for me too...
ReplyDeletewow, i am so impressed with all the delicious eats you had over the weekend. very nice. and that hair! so adorable. love it--glad you went through with it.
ReplyDeleteLove the hair!!!! Glad you had a good weekend. All that delicious food makes me wish I could eat whatever I want...
ReplyDeleteWow you look fabulous in that hair do. Great cut....makes you look younger. Is that good? The garage is so my fav pic. The driveway looks like it's the kind that has a ramp for each tire with steps between. Was it? I'll take that egg, sausage and potatoe breakfast: right now! please.
ReplyDeleteEwwww, I've never seen a banana slug before! Creepy!
ReplyDeleteHowever, your hair looks AMAZING! And all that food is making my tummy growl =-)
I love your new look and that banana cake! The bonus about having shorter hair is you can blow dry it in half the time:)
ReplyDeleteVa va voom!! Rrrrrrr!!!! (rolled spanish r) Ow ow!! The swoopy bangs are purrrrfect!
ReplyDeleteYour trip looks like it was amazing and relaxing. Oregon has such a charming lifestyle I think... I mean I've never really been there... but I want to go now.
3 Things:
ReplyDeleteMy fridge died this weekend. I'm sick of peanut butter sandwiches. Your post didn't help.
It was Jinx's 5th birthday - her special thing is a whole can of tuna. If she's anything like her predecessor she'll get 10 more. Happy birthday to your buddy too.
The salt shop cracked me up. Sodium Chloride. Maybe Potassium Chloride for people on reduced sodium diets. I buy my sodium chloride at the grocery store for $0.98 a giant can. It amazes me on what people can make money on. Good for them!
looks like a great trip... love Portland, but you're making me hungry! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am still on the hunt to find morels (it's one mushroom that has eluded me.) the ones I used were a gift. I agree... def a special occasion meal when you bring out morels.
ReplyDeleteHOLY SHIOT! LOVE IT! I cannot remember when you hair was ever that short!!!! Really, looks great Nik! Also, even before the post started... I knew this would be another food tour, yum. And, Charlie and Issy didn't get to join in on the fun? What the heck was up with the creepy stuffed animal zoo truck? Excited to see you and your new haircut in person soon! Did B love it too!?!
ReplyDeleteoh, and PS - you do look more like Katia with the new do... ;) Gotta get a sister pic together before it grows out!
ReplyDeleteMom says...I think you look like your sister with your hair cut...(it's cute)Looking forward to a fam picture of my "twins" and me on Mother's Day!!...About the food? Cavemen don't eat that stuff!? good bye Paleo...hello caleo-ries!
ReplyDeletemy goodness it looks like you had much great food/inspiration/luck! lovelovelove the hair! also you kinda take amazing pictures....just wanted to make sure you knew
ReplyDeleteLove your hair, it looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteChelsea- Definitely. First you need to find a sales associate with the style you want ;)
ReplyDeleteMaryBeth- Thank you! We had so much good food. I'm craving Cuban right now.
Katia- Twinsies...hope you don't mind. You could've eaten quite a bit of it actually.
Diana- Someone else said it made me look younger too. I don't know if that is a good thing...I already look 12. Those are stairs between the driveway. A lot of houses around there have that.
Krysten- They're a good slug. Some of them have spots too! Thank you. The hair is growing on me. Literally ;)
Alissa- Yes! And half the hair products. I overdid it on the shampoo this a.m. I love banana cake. I didn't used to. It was yummy!
McKenna- Bahaha! Well thank you missy. Didn't quite expect that response ;) I do love Portland. I think I could live there. Especially the food!
Mike- 3 things...why are you waiting to get your fridge fixed? I love pb&j! Poor Jinx, what a bad pet owner. I didn't buy anything...but is your salt infused with chocolate, or smoked? Not for that price!
Joe- I'm leary of purchasing them online. We get ours from the farmers market or my Grandma brings them from Europe.
Danielle- Haha thanks. Take you by surprise? You know Portland has great food. How could I not?
Gramychou- I ignored the Paleo, but bought the book if you want to read it!
Monique- Thank you. I'm learning with camera...and with my hair. It was a great trip!
Alecia- Thanks. What a change huh?!
I love the hair cut!!! It's young & fresh! Good choice!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THE HAIR! It's absolutely perfect on you!!!
ReplyDeleteAlso I'm so glad you had a great time, great pics as always!
The haircut is so flattering on you! You look mahvelous, dahling, simply mahvelous.
ReplyDelete~Jenifer
And, I'm dying to know what the purchase was. Please, don't keep me in suspense.
ReplyDeleteThe hair looks darling - I love it Nikki!! Looks like another fun/food-filled weekend in Portland! :)
ReplyDeleteI love it Nikki...your hair is so cute!
ReplyDeleteMandy- Thank you. Everyone says it makes me look younger...I'll go with fresh. It's a nice change.
ReplyDeleteCarissa- Thank you. I'm struggling with it right now. It does not want to do what I want it to!
Jenifer- Thank you dahling. I can't tell you...it's a surprise. And not a very exciting one.
Jaime- Thank you! Yes it was fun. Hope you had a good house warming party. I'll come warm your house soon.
Stefanie- Thank you. I'm happy to have a new look....27 years later ;)
