Bingo and ice cream

Over the weekend we got together with some friends for dinner.  They have two adorable kids and they always get me playing games like hide and seek or dress up.  I'm like that crazy Aunt who will leave adult conversations to rough house.  I count it as cardio.

On this particular night, the kids wanted to play Bingo.  Let me tell you how long it has been since we played Bingo.  Sarah and I had a good time pretending we were little old ladies.

Snow day!

Yesterday we stayed home for a snow day.  It started on Sunday when we were up at my MIL's celebrating Bryan's birthday.  He always complains I drag out my birthdays, but I think he did a pretty good job this year.  The snow was falling and a few people were wishing for a day off.

Dates with goat cheese wrapped in prosciutto.  I had about 20.

Apple crisp, perfect for the falling snow.

Monday, it snowed all day long and they were forecasting a drop in temperatures so we left work early.  I'm so glad we did because the commute home took some people 5+ hours.  I've been in that before, no thank you.

And then on Tuesday, we woke up to this.

Hope everyone stayed warm!

I'm taking a break for the holiday and will be back Monday.
But before I go, I want you to know how thankful I am to have such wonderful readers.
Your comments make me laugh daily, and most of all...make my day.

Why yes I am drinking wine right now...why do you ask?

I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving with your friends and family!

Sunday night dinner

Sunday night Danielle and Stephen had us over for dinner at their new house.  It was a beautiful night, with the first snow falling.  Now we're stuck in said snow and I'm hoping it is gone by Thanksgiving.  Although beautiful, if it messes with me getting turkey...I will not be happy.

Ravish on Eastlake Ave

This weekend was a busy one.  Saturday we spent all day cleaning and doing some touch up painting in the house for an upcoming appraisal.  It was all things that needed to be done anyway, so it was nice to get them out of the way.  For some reason I was always under the impression that only people with kids had grimy kitchen cabinets from those little jam hands.  I think this is from my babysitting days.  I'm sad to report that I too had grimy kitchen cabinets.  And I don't have any jam hands to blame it on.

Later we got to have some fun.  We headed to Ravish on Eastlake Avenue for some small bites with friends.  Ravish is an adorable restaurant with a great drink list and organic food.

The decor is awesome too.
