Yodel ay hee hoo!

Well, I haven't said too much about our trip to Europe lately.  I've been doing some research trying to figure out which days we'll be where so we can book a couple of places to stay here and there.  I'm trying to utilize airbnb while we're in Paris.  Has anyone used them before?

I asked Bryan the other day what he was interested in seeing.  Did he want to see the Matterhorn?  Did he want to see the Alps?  He said he wouldn't mind seeing the D-Day beach, and wanted to know how far it was from Paris.  I told him about a 2 hour train ride.  He said forget it, that was too far ;)  But he showed some interest and by golly I will deliver!

Now I'm thinking of dumping Italy and spending a little more time in France before we head to Switzerland.  Decisions, decisions.  I'm also secretly hoping the weather will still be decent and we can spend a little time at the beach. Don't worry, I'm not holding my breath.

What are you spending your time googling lately?  A trip?  A new outfit?

  4. I loved the beaches at Normandy so I definitely think you should try to make it there. The American Military Cemetery is a very reverent place and I was definitely moved. Have you thought about making your way to Spain?

  6. OMFG how could he possibly say a two hour train ride was too long to see the D DAY FRIGGING BEACH.

I would DIIIIIEEE to go there and see that. I would ride for 10 hours in a train overloaded with east indians who had no concept of personal space or personal hygiene to see the D DAY beach!

Not in the budget for me any time soon. But if you do go, could you please please please share all the pictures of which I'm sure you'll be taking lots?

  7. Planning a trip here, Italy of course, but I was debating whether or not to visit an artist lady friend in Belgrade.

Serbia is kind of scary though, I think you can get deported to Albania or something.

  10. We rented a car upon arrival in CDG and drove ourselves out to the Normandy area stopping in Lisieux then spending the first night in Caen. Toured the area the next day then took the back roads (thanks to GPS in the car) to Mont Saint-Michele and spent the night there before driving back to Paris and dropping off the car -- covered a lot of ground in 2 1/2 days! Definitely worth it!

"Let's go straight to our private chalet in Switzerland! We'll take the jet!"

Ok, sorry, I'm so incredibly jealous. :P You'll have a great time no matter what you do. Personally, I'd spend some time in Italy.
