*shakes fist at the heavens*
But we're alive and well. Minus about 5 trees because the ice encased them and snapped them like toothpicks. It was the strangest thing to stand outside and listen to branches and trees falling all around you. Well that and generators. Of course I wouldn't let Bryan buy one during the last week long power outage (5 years ago) so we sat in the dark receiving text messages from friends thanking Bryan for hooking up their generators. He just sat there giving me the stink eye the whole time...luckily it was dark so I couldn't see it.
The first half of our snow adventure was lovely though. Fire crackling, dogs playing in the snow, a good book and a marathon of Burn Notice. Then one of our trees fell on the transformer in front of our house and it sparked and shot flames until we lost power. Game over.
The fun:
Charlie the snow plow
Yay! Snow day!
Rolo comes to play
He liked to lay on top of Issy's ball and roll around
Dumbo
Issy loves to ruin pictures
The beauty:
My Mom took these, I was too cold to venture outside ;)
The destruction:
Blurry tree branch after Bryan drug it out of the driveway
Bye bye apple tree...lilac, fir x 2 and cedars
These are the tree tops that fell into our yard
Thanks for sticking through my little break. Back to regularly scheduled programming...
Speaking of that, anyone not have cable and watch all their shows on the internet?

I've yet to meet a man that can do the proper stink eye. That power is usually reserved for women.
ReplyDeleteIf Bryan can pull off a proper stink eye he has scary powers I don't want to even start to comprehend.
I've missed you! Wondered about you and all the snow!
ReplyDeleteHow freaking cute is Rolo!!! OMG! I could eat him up!!
I beat Bryan buys a generator now?
After Katrina my brother went out and bought one since Louisiana gets hit with hurricanes all the time!
Oh that darn power outage! We lost power for 3 days. But we are we are wimps and wouldn't sleep in the cold so we stayed at my sister-in-laws in her warm house! The snow was fun though, right? Minus the trees breaking. It happened all around us too. So sad.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the pioneer lifestyle was no fun, but at least the begining of it was nice.
ReplyDeleteCrazy how something so beautiful can cause so much distruction.
We have cable but I have several friends that don't and they watch their shows online through their "smart" DVD player. They have hulu plus and netflix. Also there is a thing called Roku that sounds really cool and even works on the old tube tvs, you just need wireless internet.
Phew I am glad you are back! I am also glad all the crazy snow is gone:)
ReplyDeleteLove the pics your mom took. I took a few like that also. That ice....it's the Beauty and the Beast. It was surreal to be sitting here hearing "crack...woosh".... "crack...woosh", all around. In our yard also. We only lost power for an hour...lucky us.
ReplyDeleteYikes!! Sorry to hear what a mess you had to del with!! We don't have cable & stream everything! If there is a show I really want to watch I just buy the series on iTunes! It's actually really nice, it doesn't give you the option to sit in front of a TV all day!
ReplyDeleteOh man, what a pain! But I'm glad you're back!
ReplyDeleteWe don't even own a TV. We watch everything online!
Those pups look like they are having a blast, so cute. Love the icicle pictures.
ReplyDeleteYay! Alls back to normal, & I can even comment finally :-) Thanks again for the V-day stuff. Loove the pups in the snow pics. We have got to get over to play with Rolo. Have a great Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteThe dogs in the snow seriously made me smile.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your misadventure. Thank goodness for the fireplace.
ooh! These are gorgeous! Glad somebody is experiencing winter!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! And sorry I've taken a hiatus from commenting. It was totally unintentional.
